Theatre in the Pass (TitP) was formed June 2014 when the City of Pass Christian offered a group of local volunteers the auditorium at the Randolph High School on Clark Avenue as a home for a new community theatre. Randolph was the city’s first African-American public school built in 1928 and restored following hurricane Katrina. Today the center houses a senior citizen and community center, and now, once again TitP.
TitP was formerly known as the Pass Christian Theatre Project. The name change reflects not only a better alignment with other Pass Christian Main Street programs, such as Art in the Pass, Jazz in the Pass and Christmas in the Pass, it also shows the maturation of the community theatre group from its inception eight years ago.
TitP has two goals:
- To bring live theatre to Pass Christian residents and neighbors in surrounding coastal communities and cities.
- To attract theatergoers to the Pass from surrounding areas to heighten awareness of the beauty of Pass Christian along with its numerous eateries, attractions, events, and organizations. With increased tourism comes increased revenues for our businesses and city.
We hope you join us as we strive to enrich and grow the theatrical arts in Pass Christian.
