Library Events

People of all ages are welcome to join in the 5th Annual Butterfly Count for southwest Harrison County, Mississippi on Thursday, October 1st. This is an official Butterfly Count that will be conducted in accordance with the guidelines of the North American Butterfly Association. Mr. Craig Marks, author of The Butterflies of Louisiana, will guide us through a variety of coastal habitats and assist in the identification of the butterflies. This is a family-friendly learning experience. Join us for the whole day or for just a portion. No experience is necessary.  We will meet in front of the Pass Christian Library (111 Hiern Avenue) at the start of the event at 9:30am.

We are asking those attending to provide their own transportation.  You will be responsible for your own safety.  Please wear boots or closed-toed shoes (water shoes are fine).  Lunch will be on your own and we encourage everyone attending to bring water and snacks.  Participants are encouraged to bring a bug net, binoculars and a camera to help identify the butterflies.

Pre-registration is required.  Please send an email to jenbuck3@gmail.com to sign up.  There is a $3 registration fee for the event (please bring exact change if possible). https://www.facebook.com/events/950773557977947
