Oysters in the Pass is excited to announce a CALL for ARTISTS to design and paint an OYSTER sculpture for PERMANENT public display. Oysters in the Pass is a Pass Christian Main Street project that will install a collection of artistically painted oyster statues in and around the City of Pass Christian to celebrate the historic link between The Pass and the natural oyster reef in the Mississippi Sound. Sculpture designs will be vetted by the Oysters in the Pass Design Committee and presented to community SPONSORS for selection. Once completed, the OYSTERS will be installed in approved locations in and around the City of Pass Christian, MS. The fiberglass OYSTERS weigh approximately 45 pounds and stand 53″ tall with a 36″ base. The number of chosen designs will be dependent on community sponsorships.
